About these Guides

How to use these guides.

Long story short, the idea is to eventually cover all the municipalities here, plus all the neighbourhoods of Sarajevo. And you, Brčko! Little by little, little by little. All of the guides are organised in the same way, into simple sections that are largely self-explanatory, but I shouldn’t get ahead of myself. I’ll explain below. All photos are mine unless otherwise stated. If I haven’t visited, there isn’t a guide, yet. Each guide has an introduction, saying a little bit about the town, my experiences, what makes it special, and so on. There is usually history because history is the best.

Transport

This part always focuses on bus stations because I have a strange obsession with the bus stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. If there is a train station, that will get some shine. At some point in the future, I’d like to add something about roads, but I don’t really know anything about cars.

What to See and Do

As the title suggests, this is all about what to see and do. The main tourist attractions, landmarks, monuments, museums, galleries and all that, the things to pay attention to when in town. Often, there will be some places outside of town or in the wider municipality.

Brews, Booze and Bites

I know the title is a bit silly, but I like it, so there. This is the food and drink section, focused mainly on where to drink a decent coffee, where to enjoy a cold beer, and where to eat the best food in town.

Sleeping

Where to sleep, hotels, apartments, hostels, and all the rest. There are affiliate links in there, although I can put my hand on my heart and say that the properties came before the links. Many towns have no links because I’m not willing to put anywhere in for the sake of it. Visoko, I’m looking at you.
